Twenty-something Renata and her sister Siena go on a week-long beach vacation with their exuberant Italian-Canadian parents. Renata has recently been laid off, but keeps that quiet from her rather present mother. As the days of lazing on the beach, playing cards and the obligation to "take it easy" above all else slowly begin to take their toll, we see how the increasing tension between family members makes it increasingly difficult for Renata to balance between her independence and the need to be cared for.
Whereas the depiction of trans people in films often involves cruel humiliation and families falling apart due to rejection, this is a multi-layered story of a loving family during a sun-drenched summer vacation.
