About the film:
François and Julie have been together for 16 years and are parents of two children, but their sexual connection has faded. When The Rocky Horror Picture Show first appeared on stage in 1973, no one could have imagined the lasting impact and legacy the subversive rock musical would have on queer and underground film communities. The film adaptation of the stage production was released 50 years ago, and for many people it became a formative cultural touchstone.
All the more reason to invite the original cast, creatives, and other figures from pop culture to reflect on the cult classic. The documentary features personal stories from creator Richard O'Brien, stars such as Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, and contemporary icons including Trixie Mattel.
