Whereas the summer holidays are a relaxing time for most teens, fourteen-year-old Griffin instead has burning ambitions: his latest dramatic play is going to be a cross between Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf and American Beauty.

Unfortunately, his obvious genius isn’t always recognised in his sleepy hometown, and his cast members are distracted by shallow pursuits like summer camp and boyfriends.

Perhaps hunky, woozy handyman Brad could be a kindred spirit; after all, Brad was once a failed performance artist in New York…

With stellar performances from the young cast, this coming-of-age story is a bittersweet comedy about unrequited love and burning ambition. Hilarious and refreshingly original.
