Prior to this screening, author Simone Atangana Bekono will give a special introduction.

Tying into the enormously popular movie adaptations of Wicked, this documentary tells the story of Dorothy Gale's journey, which began in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz 125 years ago.

Legendary actresses like Judy Garland, and more recent Dorothys like Ashanti en Shanice Shantay, have all worn the Ruby Slippers and explain what the role has meant for them and how it has impacted their lives.

As well, it shows how, through numerous adventures and reimaginings since the character’s first appearance, Dorothy has evolved into a queer cultural icon.

It’s Dorothy! celebrates Dorothy’s magic and legacy - a joy to behold.
