ROZE FILMDAGEN AWARDS 2024

Presentator van de awards show, Annefleur Schipper (programmamaker / De Lesbische Liga Podcast), reikte zondag 24 maart in Het Ketelhuis de Roze Filmdagen Awards uit.

De awards gingen naar zeven filmmakers die in de prijzen vielen in de volgende secties: jury awards, audience awards en de nominatie Iris Prize. Twee dagen eerder op vrijdagavond werd in Het Ketelhuis al de Hivos Free to be Me Award 2024 uitgereikt. Daarnaast organiseerde Roze Filmdagen dit jaar een filmcompetitie.

ROZE FILMDAGEN FILMCOMPETITIE

Roze Filmdagen wil heel graag Nederlandse queer makers stimuleren en bijdragen aan een diverser Nederlandse queer storytelling cultuur. Daarom is er dit jaar voor het eerst een korte filmcompetitie opgezet waarbij een bedrag van maar liefst €15.000,- viel te winnen als bijdrage aan de realisatie van een korte film, die volgend jaar in premiere zal gaan tijdens Roze Filmdagen 2025.

THE PERFORMANCE - CLAIRE ZHOU

Het Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival vindt jaarlijks plaats in Cardiff, Wales. Roze Filmdagen nomineert elk jaar een filmmaker uit Nederland, die - samen met 34 andere inzendingen - strijdt om de winst. Tijdens het festival wordt een award en een geldbedrag van 30.000 Pond uitgereikt aan de beste korte film. Deze award geeft de winnende filmmaker de kans om een nieuwe korte film te maken.

“The art of short film making is definitely an art form in and of itself, where restraint is key. With a limited amount of time, every second counts to bring the filmmaker’s point across. The winner of this year is nothing but a masterclass in this. With just two protagonists, one rather mundane location, and with the help of one comic relief character it manages to pack a mighty punch."
