Meet the nominees of 2026

Within its wide-ranging film programme, Roze Filmdagen also presents several awards each year. In true Roze Filmdagen tradition, a professional jury evaluates a selection of films to reach its verdict. The audience also plays an important role: after each screening, visitors can cast their vote in the same categories for the Audience Award, powered by Mastercard. So don’t forget to vote during the festival!

Audience Awards - Powered by Mastercard

The audience’s voice is at least as important, which is why the Audience Awards will once again be presented this year.

For feature films and documentaries, viewers can give a rating after the screening, with 1 being the lowest score and 5 the highest.

Voting is done using a ballot card distributed by our volunteers.

After the film, the ballot card can be placed in one of the voting boxes provided. For the short films, you vote for the film from the programme you watched that you feel deserves your vote the most.

Audience Awards will be presented for:
• BEST SHORT
• BEST DOCUMENTARY
• BEST FEATURE
• BEST DUTCH SHORT (Iris Prize nomination)

Hivos FREE TO BE ME AWARD

This year, Hivos, our principal partner, is once again lending its name to this award for the ninth time. The Free To Be Me Award honours a film that makes a strong contribution to the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community in a part of the world where this cannot be taken for granted. In addition to offering concrete support and recognition to the filmmaker through a cash prize, the award also provides an additional platform.

This year, the award is proudly presented to Onir, director of the Indian film WE ARE FAHEEM AND KARUN.
